It’s the feud that never ends. Liam Gallagher has insulted his brother Noel, whilst on stage in Japan. Well, we say insulted but we don’t imagine Gallagher senior will be too upset at his band being called “smurfs”.
The mini outburst happened while Beady Eye performed at the Fuji Rock Festival in Naeba. Liam dedicated two Oasis songs to his sibling, firstly announcing that Rock ‘n’ Roll Star was for “the one and only Mr Noel Gallagher”, which seemed quite cordial, before declaring that Morning Glory was for “The High Flying Smurfs”. Oh dear.
Noel and his High Flying Birds played at the same festival the following day, even though he had previously insisted they would never appear on the same bill because “people start asking if we’re reforming. Or they’ll ask if we’re going to get on stage together and sing Digsy’s (bleeping) Dinner.”
That’s not the original title, by the way.
