This weekend’s Stone Roses reunion concerts have been hailed as a success, but younger fans may not have realised that the band was incomplete.
Watching from the wings was Cressa – originally the band’s roadie but who quickly graduated to a Bez-like role of dancing like a loon on stage, during their initial burst of success. And despite a Facebook campaign, he was sadly not asked to rejoin the 2012 line-up.
However, the round-headed fella wasn’t remotely downhearted, and told the NME:
“Obviously it was emotional just to see them. 18 months ago I was saying to people, ‘There’s three things I want to see before I die; My son grow up to be a grown man, City to win the Premier League and the Roses to play again. I bet I only see one of those’, and now in the last year, City have won the league and the Roses are playing again – so two out of three ain’t bad.”
We wonder if Andrew Ridgeley feels the same way about Wham!
