One of the saddest aspects of the tragic early death of Amy Winehouse is knowing how much music we’ll never hear. And now RnB star Usher has revealed he’d been planning to collaborate with Amy before she passed away, last July.
One sweet side to this story is that the pair came up with the plan to work together after they bumped into each other at the shops! Talking to MTV, Usher said:
“Before you know it we talked and exchanged information and I invited her to a show… and she didn’t come.”
But the Scream singer persevered, contacting Amy’s producer Salaam Remi. Sadly they never managed to find time to record.
“There was a few conversations that took place, but we never quite made it to it. I would have loved it. It could have been one of the most incredible records ever. A voice like that comes once in a lifetime.”
